Updated over a month ago

The AI Chat in your DFIRST whiteboard is a powerful tool for quick research and brainstorming. You can instantly chat with leading AI models (like ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude, and Grok) and even perform real-time web searches.

Most importantly, you can add any chat response directly to your whiteboard as a new node, seamlessly integrating your research into your strategy.

1. How to Use the AI Chat & Websearch

You can easily start a chat at any time without leaving your workflow. To open the chat:

  • Click the 'AI Agent' panel in the bottom-right corner of your whiteboard.

  • Then select Chat to open the AI chat mode. This will open a chat panel where you can ask any question, whether it's related to your workflow or for general research.

Using the Websearch Tool For the most up-to-date information, use an AI model that supports the Websearch feature (indicated by a globe icon ๐ŸŒ).

When you ask a question using one of these models, the AI will perform a live web search to give you real-time results on current topics, news, and trends.

2. How to Save a Chat Response as a Node

Once the AI provides a valuable answer, you can instantly add it to your whiteboard to integrate it into your strategy.

  1. Hover over the chat response you want to keep, then click the bookmark icon to save it as a node on your whiteboard.

  2. The chat response will instantly be converted into a new, independent node on your whiteboard.

Example: From Research to Strategy

This feature is perfect for turning insights into an actionable plan. Hereโ€™s a practical example:

Step 1.

  • Ask a Question You are building a content strategy for a client on LinkedIn. You open the AI Chat and ask, "What are the latest LinkedIn algorithm researches and trends?"

Step 2.

  • Get Real-Time Answers The AI, using Websearch, researches this topic and provides a complete answer detailing the latest algorithm updates, key trends (like the importance of expert comments), and preferred content types.

Step 3.

  • Save to Whiteboard This information is crucial. You hover over the AI's answer and click the "Add to Whiteboard" icon. You now have a new node on your canvas titled "Latest LinkedIn Algorithm Research."

Step 4.

  • Connect and Build Your Strategy This is where a single insights becomes a strategy. Your research is no longer in a separate document. You can now:

    • Drag a connector from this new research node to your "Content Pillars" node.

    • Connect it to a "New Post Ideas" node to brainstorm content that aligns with the algorithm.

    • Link it to your main "LinkedIn Strategy" node to show that your plan is data-driven.

By doing this, your research becomes a visible, connected, and actionable part of your strategy, ensuring your content is perfectly tuned to hit the target and succeed on LinkedIn.
